6th Crafts Bangkok 2024: A Global Gathering for Sustainable Arts & Crafts





The 6th Crafts Bangkok 2024 event, dedicated to the celebration and preservation of sustainable arts and crafts, took place from August 24th to August 28th, 2024, at the Bangkok International Trade Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand. This significant event was hosted by the Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (SACIT) and organized by IMAGE Solution Co., Ltd., drawing artisans, craft enthusiasts, and industry leaders from around the world.


Representing the World Craft Council AISBL (WCC AISBL), Mr. Saad al-Qaddumi, the President, was a distinguished attendee at this gathering. His presence highlighted the importance of global partnerships in advancing the craft culture and industry.


Crafts Bangkok 2024, themed "Sustainable Arts & Crafts," focused on preserving the rich traditions of craftsmanship while exploring innovative approaches to sustain and enhance the craft industry in today's evolving world. The event provided a vital platform for networking among international craftsmen, opening new avenues for cultural exchange and development within the craft sector.


Key figures at the event included Dr. Surapee Rojanavongse, President of the Thailand Handicraft Trade Association (THTA); Dr. Sitthichai Smanchat, President of the ASEAN Handicraft Promotion and Development Association (AHPADA); and Mr. Pom Korakoj Srivikorn, Vice President of THTA, along with the Gaysorn Amarin team. Their presence and contributions further highlighted the event's importance as a hub for international craft collaboration.






Crafts Bangkok 2024 successfully showcased a wide variety of crafts, from traditional techniques to contemporary innovations, emphasizing the role of sustainable practices in preserving craft culture for future generations. Through this event, SACIT and its partners continue to champion the global craft community, ensuring that the cultural and economic value of crafts is recognized and nurtured worldwide.
