The Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT), the largest and most comprehensive craft exhibition in Southeast Asia, is back. The exhibition, which has been held for more than two decades, has become a tangible manifestation of the implementation of the development of the Southeast Asian and international craft world. Along with the development of increasingly advanced times, on its way to 2022, INACRAFT has a sister-event entitled INACRAFT On October.
For craft and fashion product lovers, INACRAFT on October Vol.3 was held for 5 days on October 2-6, 2024, at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) using the entire hall. In this third edition, INACRAFT on October further solidifies the concept of YOUTHPRENEURS as a form of ASEPHI's commitment and attention to the younger generation working in the world of crafts and cultural arts. By providing a forum and the widest possible opportunity, it is hoped that young crafters and business people can seize market opportunities to be increasingly recognized and successful as the next generation in maintaining Indonesia's cultural wealth. Therefore, this year's INACRAFT On October Vol.3 has the theme "Youthpreneurs, Make It At Market”.
Unlike the previous INACRAFT, this time ASEPHI conducted a more rigorous curation of exhibitors through the division of zones based on product types (zoning product). In this case ASEPHI hopes that it will make it easier for buyers/buyers to find quality products in the exhibition area. There are 8 Zoning Areas starting from the Main Lobby area which is the center of the INACRAFT on October Vol.3 icon area, namely Youthpreneur & Craft, homedecor and houseware, jewelry and accessories, variety of fabrics such as tenun, ikat, songket, and a combination of several other fabrics and all kinds of batik fand a Main Stage area which is the center of the INACRAFT on October Vol.3 event. In the last area specifically for F&B, there is Talam which will present a variety of food & drinks with a touch of Indonesian flavors will be located in Mezzanine and Hall B.
In addition to zoning, this year's INACRAFT also presents various supporting activities (Insight Program), designed specifically for Gen-Z who want to explore the world of crafts and cultural arts, while expanding business opportunities and market networks. This year, there were several Insight Programs, including INACRAFT Model Hunt (Kids & Teenagers), Young Fashion Design Competition, Fashion Show, Youthpreneurs (Main Lobby Icon), Cultural Performances, and Craft Talks & Workshops.
INACRAFT Appreciation Night honored emerging crafters/artists (including non-members of ASEPHI) introduced their work that has promising market potential in the future, as well as inspire young creative entrepreneurs to sustain Indonesian tradition and culture in the craft industry. There were several categories of awards given at this year's INACRAFT such as INACRAFT Emerging & Youthpreneurs, Best Model Hunt (Kids & Teenagers), Best Young Fashion Design Competition, Best Booth (Individual & Dinas/UMKM), Best Appreciation of Sales Commitment, Delicious Talam, and a special APK Award to the best BPD BPC ASEPHI.
Technically, INACRAFT on October occupied the entire area of the Jakarta Convention Center Convention Hall covering an area of 23,000 m2 .
